Author Guidelines
Submission Requirements
- Language: English only
- Length: Minimum of 8 and maximum of 10 pages (editors may evaluate longer submissions)
- Formatting:
- Download and use the IJOST paper template (available in MS Word format).
- Structure:
- Title: Clear and concise, describing research aims, method, and objective (avoid abbreviations).
- Abstract: Max 250 words, no citations. Include goal, research design, methodology, main results, and conclusions.
- Keywords: Minimum of 3.
- Sections: Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results/Findings & Discussions, Conclusion & Recommendations.
- References: Minimum of 10, formatted in APA style following Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC).
- Copyright:
- Authors retain copyright but grant IJOST first publication rights.
- Work can be shared under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license.
- Authors can make separate agreements for non-exclusive distribution (repositories).
- Open access is encouraged (posting online before/during submission).
Data Sharing:
- Share all data, code, or protocols underlying your research (exceptions require justification).
- Deposit data/software in trusted repositories.
- Include data/software identifiers (DOIs) in your article.
Publication Fees:
- No submission fee.
- Article Processing Charge (APC): 50 USD (up to three authors, additional authors $10 each).
- After acceptance, you will receive a PayPal invoice to proceed with the payment of the Article Processing Charge (APC).
- After Payment: Send through email the invoice or proof of payment with the final manuscript and signed copyright form to the editor: editor-ijost@virtualrealia.org.
Similarity and AI Content Policy
All submissions will undergo a rigorous evaluation for originality and adherence to ethical writing practices.
- Similarity Check:
- The manuscript should not exceed a similarity index of 10%, as determined by plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin or iThenticate).
- Proper attribution must be given for all quoted and paraphrased content.
- AI-Generated Content Check:
- The manuscript will be screened to verify that AI-generated content does not exceed 10% of the overall text.
- Authors are required to disclose any use of AI tools in the writing, editing, or data analysis stages of the manuscript preparation.
